101 things to do in the Spring in NYC (if it EVER gets warmer...)

I was pleasantly surprised to see a lot of new events/activities that I’ve never heard about before. It’s lookin like Brooklyn is the place to be this Spring… I’ll definitely be hitting up the flea markets and the Cherry Blossom Matsuri in the next couple of weeks.

Academy Award-nominated Short Films 2013

Went to the IFC Center on West 4th to watch the Academy Award-nominated Animated Shorts. (The Live Action and Documentary selection were playing too). Of the five, I liked Fresh Guacamole the most.

Walked by this beautiful sign today around Union Square (near The New School). I love pun-ny wit.

Like graffiti? and I’m talking about legit shit, not some key marks on a subway or a quick tag in an alleyway. I’m talking about people who respect this art form and have worked long hours and inhaled toxic levels of paint fumes to hone their craft. Check out 5 Pointz (5ptz.com) in Queens (off the 7) to marvel at the beauty of this graffiti-covered building.

Keep your eyes open while on the train, you’ll get a pretty great view of the place.

Went to the Met with a friend who’s obsessed with Rothko. Truthfully, I don’t get it but to each their own I guess. While she drooled over one of his pieces (pic), I drifted towards the new Islamic Art exhibit. It was absolutely beautiful!

If you're looking for a gym in NYC...

Check out NY Sports Club! LivingSocial is doing a deal for a 30-day trial at any 1 location (nationally, not just in NY) for only $24. Like many people, I vowed to get fit in 2013… It’s already February and I have not followed through with a single attempt to do so. Buying this is the first step, I guess?

Buy it now (using this link)! There are 5 days remaining for the sale.
